Scientific Studies on Reiki and Surgery

Scientific studies show that Reiki is an effective complementary treatment to traditional pre-habilitation and rehabilitation surgery treatments and is effective in reducing pain, discomfort and anxiety levels. Because your nervous system deeply relaxes during a Reiki treatment your body surrenders to a state of deep rest allowing it to release stress and anxiety and naturally support the healing process.

Below are links to peer-reviewed, scientific studies on the impact of using Reiki as a complimentary treatment to traditional surgical practices. In most cases, readers must have a journal subscription to read the full article however snippets of each article with key information and findings are available at the provided links.  Titles marked with an * indicate the full article is available online.
